Red cabbage is a wonderful vegetable that’s a lot easier to use in cooking than many believe! So what can you do with this big head of cabbage you may have seen in your local grocery store but been hesitant to buy?

  1. You can slice it up and eat it in a raw salad.

  2. You can fry sliced red cabbage by itself or together in a stir fry.

  3. You can add some in a soup

  4. You can chop it up really fine and fry it as “rice”, similar to “cauliflower rice”, but with a fun color and flavor.

I love adding curry powder to red cabbage dishes, and as always, GARLIC and salt. Red cabbage has a great flavor by itself, and it works with lots of different flavor combinations. Just like it’s sibling white/green cabbage, it goes great fried together with salmon or chicken. Add a bit of seasonings and the meal is done!

The next few days I’ll be sharing 3 specific ways of how you can use red cabbage in cooking, so come on back here and get inspired to eat more red cabbage! 🙂

The intense red/purple color shows you that red cabbage has a strong concentration of antioxidants. Just like Brussels sprouts, kale, and the other vegetables in the Brassica oleracea family of vegetables, red cabbage also has the same important cancer-fighting, immune strengthening, and healing properties that are crucial in today’s society.

So what are you waiting for? Let’s eat more red cabbage! 🙂
